My camera wasn't pointed directly at the hive box. I use the cameras to monitor wildlife and any humans who might pass through the area. I have been trying to catch Japanese Honey Bees (Apis cerana japonica) for the past 3 years. I have 6 swarm traps spread over 7 kilometers along the river. They moved into a hive box that had no bee attractant or wax in it. The hive is only 40 cm off the ground. Everything I thought about catching bees was wrong.
